Construction for the Edes Gallery in Morgan Hill is well under way! JAMA is providing structural services for this mixed-use art gallery that makes exciting use of mass timber for its sustainability and organic finish. The primary framing system of the Edes Gallery is 5-ply Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) planks supported by glulam beams and columns. This project was approved to use an untopped CLT diaphragm which means no additional plywood or structural concrete topping slab are needed to transfer lateral forces to CMU shear walls. The best is yet to come! Congratulations to KTGY and a great project team.
