We’re proud to announce that the Paseo (Camera 12) project in San Jose was awarded the Best Rehab-and-Reuse Project at the Silicon Valley Business Journal Structures Awards 2023!

This complex project transformed the Camera 12 Movie Theater in the heart of downtown San Jose into a new mixed-use facility incorporating retail, restaurants, and tech-office space.

JAMA took an aggressive modeling and analysis approach on this project in an effort to minimize the extent of lateral system and foundation upgrades that would be required for the change of use of a structure built nearly 30 years ago. This approach, although requiring significantly more effort from JAMA’s design team, minimized costly pile retrofits and allowed us to take full advantage of the four different lateral systems in the existing building.
