JAMA was proud to serve as the SE on the Kaiser Watts Learning Center and Health Pavilion project. This new 3-story, 62,000 square foot Medical Office Building (MOB) and Learning Center/Pre-School was designed over a 105,000 square foot underground parking structure.

We utilized a bi-axial steel moment frame system with ConXtech connections for the above grade MOB. Our steel MOB structure is supported by a cast-in-place concrete parking structure. Meticulous coordination with Perkins&Will was required to avoid transfer beams below the MOB’s steel columns. This allowed us to maintain maximum parking efficiency below grade without impacting program space above grade.

The project resides at a tight site in Watts, CA and is important to the community and includes a Learning Center and outdoor spaces for social and educational purposes.
