Senior Project Engineer
Full-time position
We are seeking highly skilled and emerging leaders in K-14 Education, Healthcare, or Aviation to join our team in the Los Angeles or Oakland offices.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in structural analysis and design under the guidance of a senior PE or SE, with at least 2-3 years of direct experience navigating DSA, HCAI (OSHPD), or Aviation agency processes. A strong track record in managing plan check and construction phases is essential. Candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
In this role, you will oversee projects from design through construction, ensuring compliance at every stage. Responsibilities include structural analysis, design, specifications, and production of design documentation. You will coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders while providing expert guidance on agency procedures and regulations. You will play a key role in ensuring projects meet all applicable codes, standards, and timelines.
Minimum requirements:
- Licensed PE/SE in California.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with small to mid-sized buildings, including new construction, renovations, and seismic upgrades is a plus.
- Expertise in detailing various structural systems, including gravity and lateral framing.
- Proficient in industry software such as ETABS, SAFE, RAM, and RISA.
- In-depth knowledge of IBC, CBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 341, AISC 358, NDS/SDPWS, and TMS 402; familiarity with ASCE 41 is a plus.
- Experienced in Construction Administration.
- Special consideration will be given to candidates with experience in Nonlinear Seismic Analysis, Performance-Based Design, Base Isolation, Energy Dissipation Devices, Forensic Investigations and Damage Assessments, Historic Renovations, Blast Design, HAZUS/SPC-4D, and Peer Review/Plan Check.

Salary Range:
$100,000 to $121,000/year
