James Lee, SE

Associate Principal

Associate Principal James Lee joined the firm in 2015 and brings 15 years of experience delivering projects of all building types spanning various sectors including higher education, civic, cultural and commercial workplace. With in-depth knowledge of CSU and UC seismic policies and standards, James has developed a particular expertise in both new construction and seismic retrofits of existing buildings for these institutions. He advances projects through close collaboration with all stakeholders ensuring a coordinated design, while maintaining cost and schedule requirements. Combining an understanding of construction best practices, design sensibilities and technical excellence, James brings a holistic approach to his projects that is appreciated by his clients and collaborators, delicately balancing the design intent of the architect with efficient and cost-effective construction.

Outside of the office, James contributes to the larger AEC community as a dedicated member of the Asian American Architects and Engineers (AAa/e) Association where he serves on the Board of Directors for the AAa/e Foundation, an organization committed to mentoring and providing scholarships to students pursuing careers in the AEC industry.
