Principal
Trailer Martin is a nationally recognized structural engineer, highly regarded in the profession for his technical expertise in the design and construction of large-scale, complex structures. As long-time President of the firm, serving in that role from 1981 through 2017, many of JAMA’s iconic projects were completed under his presidency including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, Bellagio Hotel, Paris Hotel Eiffel Tower II, Staples Center, LAX Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) Expansion, and many others.
Trailer has served on a variety of seismic review boards, task forces and oversight committees including some of the industry’s most important regulatory agencies and organizations. Trailer has served as Board Member and Chairman of the State of California Hospital Building Safety Board (HBSB), and been a member and/or leader of their Procedures, SB-1953, and Structural Regulations committees. He was one of the founding members of the CSU Seismic Review Board where he is now an Emeritus member, and served on similar committees for the UC system. He is an Emeritus member of the Los Angeles Tall Buildings Structural Design Council. He has authored papers and policies for state-level healthcare and higher education organizations, and co-authored textbooks.
Now as Principal, Trailer continues to serve as a vital team member advising JAMA leadership, mentoring staff, and leading the firm’s forensic structural engineering practice.
