The LAX United Terminal project includes the expansion and modernization of the terminal’s existing levels and addition of new floor levels above the existing building to house a larger United Club Lounge, mechanical rooms, and offices. Overall, the project’s intent is to modernize virtually every terminal public space to enhance traveler experience, both pre- and post-security. The expansion includes a 12-lane checkpoint at the concourse level, a relocated United Club in Terminal 7, as well as 2 concession spaces, consolidated ticketing and security checkpoint. The expansion also includes 6 new elevators, 6 new escalators, 4 new stairs, and 1 new passenger boarding bridge. All three terminals were seismically upgraded as part of the project.
