This 9-story, 1 million square foot hospital features a variety of services, including labor and delivery rooms, robotics and telemedicine, operating rooms, cardiac cath rooms, pediatric intensive care units, pediatric, intensive care units, intensive care units, a radiology department, diagnostic and treatment spaces that utilize minimally invasive procedures, an emergency room and trauma center. 

Structurally, the building features a complete three-dimensional space frame for vertical loads.  Floor and roof construction consists of metal deck with reinforced concrete fill, supported on composite steel wide flange beams and girders. JAMA developed a computer model of moment frame connections showing beams and columns. The design and testing of the moment frame connection was approved by OSHPD for use on the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center Replacement Hospital and other hospital projects in California.
