The San Diego International Airport Airside Expansion is a design-build delivery terminal expansion that achieved LEED Platinum certification – the first airport project to ever achieve this goal. Completed in 2015, the project consisted of 526,000 square feet of new public and non-public areas, providing 10 additional contact aircraft gates, while the airside pavement expansion incorporates an area of 1.5 million-square feet including aircraft parking, aprons, taxiways and taxi lanes.
