Fox Plaza in Century City, California was completed. The 34-story, 493-foot skyscraper designed by Scott Johnson, Bill Fain, and William L. Pereira, was the last building Pereira designed before his death. Former American President Ronald Reagan had his offices on the 34th floor of the building for several years after leaving public office. Structurally the building accommodated a unique-for-its-time “stack effect” HVAC system with a large vertical air shaft in the central core of the building.
